Cinco de Mayo is coming up and you know what that means… We’ll be celebrating at Minnesota’s largest Latino event, Cinco de Mayo West Side Saint Paul.

When: Saturday, May 4th, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m

Where: Cesar Chavez street in Saint Paul, MN

Cost: Free

The 5th of May is an important day in Mexican history because it commemorates El Dia de la Batalla de Puebla (The Day of the Battle of Puebla), when Mexico triumphed over the French in 1862. Many United States and Mexican citizens celebrate history and tradition on this day for this reason.

So why go to this event? To learn, discover and have fun! West Side is an incredible neighborhood rich in Mexican heritage. The festival began in 1985 as a celebration of the community and its businesses, and a means for preserving the area’s culture and history. It is a gathering of local residents as much as it is an opportunity for non-residents to experience the vibrancy of Saint Paul’s West Side.
